JACKSON OLD LIBRARY COMMITTEE
MINUTES FEBRUARY 7, 2016



Attending: Margie Furlong, Mary Howe, Alicia Hawkes, Marilyn Rodes,

1.  The March Trust fund and others are unable to be tapped to be used for funding maintenance projects at the Old Library.
 
2.  Three estimates for the cost of renovation to the exterior of the Old Library building have been received.  They vary from $30,000 to $14,000.  Two more estimates have been requested.
The Town will decide which estimate to accept

3.  Selectman Bob Thompson attended the meeting to answer questions about a warrant article to be presented to the Jackson Selectmen at a meeting on Thursday February 11, 2016 at 4pm.  
The warrant article would ask the Town to appropriate $16,000 for renovations and maintenance of the Old Jackson Library.  This would include:  $3,500 from Old Library Trust;  $7,500 from Town Maintenance fund,  and a request for $5,000 from tax payers.
There was some discussion and a motion was made by Mary Howe to “donate $3,500 from the Old Library Trust Fund towards the maintenance and renovation project”.  The motion was seconded by Margie Furlong and passed unanimously.

4.  Collection and organization of “baskets” for the April 14th fund raiser at The Shannon Door” has started.  There will be several categories ranging from “Pet Accessories” to “Wine and Cheese Board” and “Toileteries”  etc.
